Space Debris – NASA
Ever since the exploration of space, mankind has sent satellites, probes and other craft into space. Many of these objects have become ‘derelict’ over some time, some deliberately, some accidentally.
From a legal point of view, they therefore constituted extra-terrestrial territory. From an environmental point of view, it is ‘Space Junk’ or ‘Space Debris’ cluttering up the space surrounding planet Earth.
THE CLAIM
Upon realizing that as these objects had been abandoned, and could subsequently be regarded as “Terris Nullius”, our founder Herman de Brock Jr. came up with the idea of laying a claim.
On the 20th of November 2019, de Brock wrote and sent the “Claim Notification Letters” to the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs, NASA, ESA, JAXA , ROSCOSMOS and the China National Space Administration. Herewith notifying them of his claim of the surface area of the derelict (abandoned) man made objects in space, such as satellites, probes, (partial) spacecraft, from the so-called Graveyard Orbit (36.050 Kilometers / 22.400 Miles from the earth’s surface) and outwards, as his territory. To be regarded as man made islands in space.
THE FLAG 
The Flag of Spaceland is a gold outlined black rectangle with a gold outlined blue sphere in the middle and two golden crossing tracks representing the so-called “graveyard orbit” where most of the Spaceland territory resides.
THE COAT OF ARMS
The coat of arms of Spaceland is a crest with the flag with respectively a flying dragon and a phoenix on the left and right side, topped with a satellite. The flying dragon represents the ancient flying machines often depicted as flying animals. The Phoenix represents the Spaceland Nation being born from the ‘ashes’ of old satellites. And the satellite is the Vanguard 1, the oldest satellite in orbit. The banner spells tour motto: “E Spatium Iunctus” (From Space, joineth) as well as the year of founding of the great Spaceland Nation “2020”.
THE CONSTITUTION
The constitution and the declaration therein is the foundation of the Spaceland Nation. The constitution was signed by the Head of State, Herman de Brock, on June 22, 2020, declaring the birth of the Spaceland Empire. Full text of the constitution can be found here: Constitution

FREE CITIZENSHIP
Any intelligent sentient self-aware being of legal age or capacity who accepts the Spaceland Constitution and Legislation, who consciously and willingly applies for citizenship, can become a Spaceland citizen. Minors need legal representative approval. Citizenship is not restricted to carbon based life forms from earth. Spaceland welcomes sentient self-aware Alien and Artificial Intelligent (A.I.) life as Citizens.
